Celebrate Health, Fitness and Positivity, Stay Drug-free

The Anti-Drug Abuse Campaign 2015 celebrates its 20th Anniversary with a carnival held at Suntec City Convention Centre Hall 403 on 26 and 27 June (these two days).

There is a special 20th anniversary photo and timeline exhibition showcasing how the community and government have worked together since 1995 to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs and to rally support for the anti-drug cause.

Visitors are able to make an anti-drug pledge using their own mobile devices and see their pledge projected onto the media wall at the carnival. You can submit your anti-drug pledge here. Anti-Drug Ribbon collar pins will be distributed at the carnival and other venues and can be worn to show your support for the anti-drug cause.

What should you look out for at this carnival? It certainly has to be the mobile game application 'Nelzon' that has been developed by NYP students. The game was launched at the opening ceremony by Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Minister, Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister for Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs.

'Nelzon' is a runner game where a schoolboy Nelzon evades and battles the Evil Conscience. It is similar to the concept of Temple Run where you control a character and make jumps/slides to avoid obstacles and collect rewards. We tried it ourselves and we have to give credit to these students. Who says Singapore has no talent? Simple as it is, it serves its purpose of educating children about drugs and staying drug-free. If you are wondering, it is playable on both iOS and Android platforms.

Besides the movie game application, the public can try their hands at different activities that promote a healthy lifestyle.  Does this game look familiar? Yes, you usually find it at the arcades but now you also get to try it here! Besides this, there are also air slammers, shooting games and of course, dancing games!

Talking about dancing, the carnival is also held in conjunction with DanceWorks!, a dance competition involving youth participants from schools. It aims to engage youths in the anti-drug cause through dance and encouraging a healthy lifestyle. The theme for this year's competition is "Dance for a Drug-Free Singapore". Check out the champions for Category 1!

Sugar Rush Crew won the champion and they were also awarded the Best Choreographer Award, with Zhafir claiming the Best Dancer Award Individual. 1st Runner up was awarded to Yishun Minion Madness and 2nd Runner up  awarded to R.V Crew. Congratulations to all the winners and everyone who participated! DanceWorks! Category 2 is taking place tomorrow, so head on down to the carnival to show them your support.

  1. I'm also against drugs and I think it's terrible when people get hooked on it. It is best to use the same cannabis for medicinal purposes. For example, I use CBD Gummies for Sleep because I have big problems with sleep and it helps me. My sleep returned to normal and I began to feel better. I think you should try it too.

  2. Are you looking for something that will help you relax? I think I can help you in the search and suggest based on my experience. For a long time I was looking for a way to relax after working hard and I found this site https://www.westcoastsupply.net/products/cannabis/marijuana/indica/ where it is possible to purchase a means of relaxation in various forms. There is a description of the effects of this drug that you can also read and make your decision.
